Early warning:  We will be asking PSARA volunteers to staff phone banks beginning in September as we work to pass Initiative 1098, the high incomes income tax initiative.  Expect to hear more about this.

PNHPWW Monthly Meeting

Swedish/Cherry Hill Campus Conference Center Auditorium
Physicians for a National Health Program - Western Washington.  Featured speaker Deborah Senn, Washington State Insurance Commissioner from 1993 to 2001.  Called "the best insurance commissioner in the United States" by Ralph Nader, she fought for tougher industry regulations.  Ms Senn has been asked to comment on what state insurance commissioners are likely to do regarding P-PACA.  For more information, contact David McLanahan

Volunteer Committee Meeting
 
Meets on an as-needed basis.  Volunteer opportunities include: phone banking, mailing parties, letters to the editor, media contacts, etc.  Requests for PSARA to lead civic engagement discussions at the various community centers are growing.  If you are interested in helping PSARA continue its important educational and advocacy work, and in growing the membership, contact Bette Reed outreachvp@psara.org or call the office at 206-448-9646.
